NURSING HOMES

On the homepage there are three ways you can find information on nursing homes.

  1. screen cap of front page's locate a facility menu.To get a list of nursing homes: Click “Search by Facility Type” under “locate a facility.” Click the arrow next to “Facility Type,” scroll down and click “Skilled Nursing Facility.” For a statewide list click “Submit.” For a “County” list choose the County you want then click “Submit.” This is usually the best way to find facilities that serve your area of the state. You can also search by City or Zip Code by entering that information, though you may get fewer choices than using the County search.


  2. screen cap of front page's find and compare menu.Click “Compare Nursing Homes” under the section “find and compare.” This will take you to the Nursing Home Guide which provides descriptive information about Florida nursing homes, as well as performance on past inspections.

  4. Click “Senior Health” in the right hand column to find the following information:
    • CARES Program provides assessment of a person to see what help is needed to keep the person in his or her own home or to help the person with placement in a nursing home.
    • Gold Seal Nursing Homes lists those nursing homes that meet high standards and quality of care.
    • Nursing Home Compare provides inspection information on Medicare certified nursing homes.
    • Nursing Home Watch List lists nursing homes not meeting minimum standards at the time of an annual or complaint inspection or those operating under bankruptcy protection.
