Aging Resource Centers
Aging Resource Centers help people 60 years or older and their loved ones to find information, agencies and resources on a variety of issues, including housing, home care, meals, transportation and other vital areas of concern
Area Agencies on Aging

CARES
CARES (Comprehensive Assessment Review and Evaluation Services) provides an assessment of a person to see what help is needed to keep the person in his or her own home or to help the person with placement in a nursing home. National Council on Aging
For people 55 years or older, the National Council on Aging has a website that provides referrals to government programs that may help with the cost of prescription drugs, health care, rent, utilities, property taxes, meals, and other needs. You can complete a brief questionnaire on the website and obtain a report on all the programs you might be eligible for and instructions how to enroll.
National Institutes for Health
A wealth of information on senior health from the National Institute of Aging and the National Library of Medicine, both part of the federal government's National Institutes of Health.

Search for information about nursing homes and inspection records on the federal Medicare website.
Nursing Home Watch List
A list of nursing homes not meeting minimum standards at the time of an annual or complaint inspection or those operating under bankruptcy protection.
